Dancing in the overlapping neighborhoods

What would happen if we intentionally connected our overlapping communities? I don’t mean getting all of the folks at work or school to start attending your church or all the folks at church to get a job at your firm. Honestly, I’m not sure what I mean; it’s just that I have these people in my life who inhabit two or more of my neighborhoods. I feel like I should respond, leverage, expand, do something.

Of course, this all sounds much too mechanical and relationships aren’t like that. Relationships are organic, maybe even chaotic, and the overlapping neighborhoods are much more complex than any Venn diagram can ever hope to capture.

Still, I wonder about such things.
