The Group Work of Deacons

Deacons instigate every-member ministry toward glorifying God through a particularized mission.

Deacons instigate every member ministry toward glorifying God through a particularized mission. They construct, maintain, and lead ministry teams in the tangible work of the church, stirring up the congregation to do the ministry and innovating ways for every member ministry to glorify God. They lead these ministry teams to carry out the ministry in partnership with the Holy Spirit, removing the boulders that block progress. Deacons are the ones who put short-term legs on the long-term priorities of the Elders, leading the congregation in incremental action that leads toward the good end of God’s Kingdom.

One Response to The Group Work of Deacons

  1. Jeff says:

Deacons should only be implemented when there is a real need from the elders. A minimum of three should always exist Christian life (Inreach), Missions (Outreach), and Business (Temporal). These three should give enough base support to the elders while freeing others to do everyday ministry to one another and the community.
