Creation’s Proclamation

Reflection on Psalm 19:1-6

Creation proclaims the splendor and weightiness of the Creator, and its lessons are worth our attention. Nature does not struggle to proclaim God’s glory. It simply does so by virtue of its identity. Without access to any propositional communication, nature fills reality with reflections of God’s glory. Its proclamation of God’s divinity and power goes out to all peoples and all places. Its proclamation of God’s glory is not a cool add-on but the result of carrying out the very thing that is its greatest joy–the task for which it has been made. Creation’s proclamation goes everywhere and touches everyone.
